Meet the Doctors
Dr. Jeff Stickel
Doctor of Chiropractic
Born: 11/25/1969, Des Moines, IA- I grew up in Pleasant Hill and went to East High School. I graduated in 1988. My mom, Ronda is right here at adio as our massage therapist and Jin Shin Jyutsu practionner. My dad, Richard passed away with cancer in 1990 at the age of 43. While he was fighting for his health I was constantly looking for the cause of cancer. I had heard of Chiropractic and its healing power so I switched from a journalism major to Chiropractic! If someone had told my dad what health was earlier he would still be alive today! HEALTH is when you are HEALING and FUNCTIONING at 100%. Chiropractic ensures that your nervous system has NO INTERFERENCE and thus OPTIMAL HEALING and you can fight cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and all the other things that Americans are dying from today.
I graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in February of 1996 and started Stickel Chiropractic on Ingersoll in Des Moines in March of 1996. The clinic has been on Ingersoll ever since, but I changed the name in 2009 to adio which stands for ABOVE DOWN INSIDE OUT–this is how your body heals!! adio chiropractic resides in the adio building at 2925 Ingersoll on the 2nd floor.
While I was at Palmer in Davenport I met a beautiful person named Heather Hatten and we got married in November of 1999. She is a very inspiring artist and interior designer! She and her partner, Nickole Modglin have studio 3 on the 3rd floor of the adio building. We have two amazing kids! We have a daughter named Sunne and a son named Shea. They are very active in baseball, softball, dance, basketball, tennis, swimming, and art.
I am very blessed with the best staff in Julia, Lindsay, Azra and Megan. We are MaxLiving Chiropractors and are on a WORLDWIDE MISSION to change the way people look at their health. In the U.S., health is not at the top of our value list. As SOON as you lose your health, it becomes your number one value. We cannot wait for this! HEALTH needs to be tied with GOD and FAMILY as your number one values. When you become a patient at adio, we do our VERY BEST to get you COMMITTED to OPTIMAL HEALTH!!!
Dr. Kasandra Miles
Doctor Of Chiropractic
I grew up in the greater city of Sudbury, Ontario. Although I am fond of my Canadian roots, life has led to me venture to bigger and better places. I was studying Biomedical Sciences at Laurentian University when I first discovered the healing power of Chiropractic. I then switched my degree to receive my Bachelor of Sciences and immediately applied for Chiropractic College. I studied my Doctorate of Chiropractic in Port Orange, Florida at Palmer College of Chiropractic. It was quite the move away from home, but it was absolutely worth it. I graduated top of my class and also received the Virgil Strang Award which recognized a single student for their contribution of the Philosophy of Chiropractic.
In the last year of my studies, I had the privilege to serve on a Chiropractic Mission trip in Haiti and Dominican Republic. It was both a humbling and an absolutely amazing experience. Serving over 1000 people in need in a poor community was a feeling that I will never forget.
My primary goal as a Doctor in the community of Des Moines is to not only get patients out of pain, but to help every single one of them achieve true health. I pride myself in consistently educating every one of my patients, as health begins from the inside out. I love participating in outreach events as it allows me to spread the truth about health to the masses. As a MaxLiving Doctor, I also focus on lifestyle changes that could be interfering with one’s health. My philosophy on Chiropractic is simple; the body has an innate healing power within itself, it just needs no interference. When the vertebral column is out of alignment, subluxation occurs and dysfunction results. By simply removing subluxation through the Chiropractic adjustment, the body can heal and function the way it was suppose to. I hope to help as many people as I can!

Doctor of Chiropractic
I grew up in New England residing in the states of Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Although I love the culture, atmosphere, and great history New England has to offer, my education and life experiences has led me to the great Midwest. At the age of twenty two I was involved in a horrible rollover car accident traveling at high speed on the freeway. The car wreck left me with tremendous low back pain creating difficulty with walking, and neck pain which caused the inability to move my head. Traditional medicine was not helping in relieving my symptoms, so it was then that I decided to give chiropractic a try. Chiropractic helped greatly in relieving my symptoms and regaining full range of motion with my neck again. It was at this point in my life that I discovered the power this great profession has to offer, and began my journey to becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic.
After attending the University of Massachusetts where I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Premedical studies, I was accepted to and graduated from The Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. I graduated and received my Doctor of Chiropractic degree, and was blessed to see many more lives change while going through my clinical rotations.
My goal as a physician in the Des Moines community is to not only help patients with their pain, but also to educate them about how nerve interference causes many of today’s most common ailments people suffer from, and how we can help.
Our staff members work with our doctors every day to provide our patients with a professional and friendly experience.

She started working for Dr. Stickel right out of college in 2002 when the office was still a small house. She has been there through all the growth and success that is now ADIO Chiropractic. In 2004 the small house was torn down, and the development of our current building began. Lindsay helped with all the moving and renovations of ADIO Chiropractic.
She grew up in Muscatine and Sioux City but currently lives in Pleasant Hill with her husband and 2 young boys, ages 5 and 2. Lindsay enjoys chasing and playing with her little boys, being outdoors, and cooking up delicious healthy meals for her family.
